Through a Summer Youth Internship Program, with the guidance of my architecture teacher, a classmate and I helped redesign a community hub for Miami-Dade District 9 constituents and for local non-profits to work and hold events. Since the building is located near the Everglades, we took the idea of the cyclical nature of filtration that the Everglades have as inspiration. We decided to use the geographical patterns the Everglades creates as a mosaic motif around the hub. We spoke to the organizations that occupy each room in the building in order to create a design to facilitate each of their needs.
